I see you out there, fishing for clients
Trying to hook ’em and reel them in while standing in the cold river with your waders on (fisherwoman chic 101), daydreaming about a hot cup of coffee.
The temptation? Use a giant net so that you can catch any wee client that swims your way. Abundance is the goal.
The problem with that? Are those the clients you are TRYING to catch? Are those the clients you came out here to get?
No.
OK, so how do you make sure you catch only the fishes (I mean clients) you actually want to catch?
– You need to know which ones you are trying to catch
– You need to understand what type of BAIT they go for
– You need to have a ‘fishing’ strategy that aligns with the type of swimmer they are
You standing with a giant net, with no clear plan, no specific type of bait, just throwing any old thing into the water? That is not going to lead to your dream clients.
Your messaging, your words, your COPY has the potential to draw in your dream clients hook, line + sinker.
But in order for it to work, the words you use need to be designed for them. The message you share needs to resonate with them.
Otherwise? Get used to standing in that cold stretch of water with nothing to show for it .
Strong, powerful, effective copywriting can TRANSFORM your business because it is one of the most important marketing skills you can (+ should) be using.
You need to think about who you are trying to catch (your ideal client) and what type of bait (your message, copy, content) you need to use to draw them in to your net.
